Massachusetts PGA Professional Honored for More Than Four Decades of Leadership in Adaptive and Inclusive Golf
Golf For All proudly announces that co-founder and Director of Golf Bob Beach, PGA, has been inducted into the inaugural Adaptive Golf Hall of Fame, established by the National Alliance for Accessible Golf. The honor recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions to expanding access to the game for people with disabilities.
For more than 40 years, Beach has dedicated his career to making golf more accessible and inclusive. Beginning in the 1980s, he worked to expand opportunities for golfers of all abilities and became a pioneer in adaptive golf programming for individuals with disabilities, veterans, and Special Olympics athletes.
Beach’s commitment to inclusion culminated in the launch of a groundbreaking adaptive golf program at Braintree Municipal Golf Course in 1996. What started as a small local initiative grew into one of the region’s most impactful adaptive golf programs, serving participants with a wide range of physical, cognitive, and developmental disabilities.
In 2011, Beach co-founded Golf For All, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free golf instruction and playing opportunities for individuals with disabilities, veterans, and underserved populations. Since its founding, Golf For All has delivered more than 1,600 free clinics and more than 12,000 participant experiences across Massachusetts.
“Bob’s impact extends far beyond golf instruction,” said Fred Corcoran, Executive Director and co-founder of Golf For All. “He has opened doors, built confidence, created community, and transformed lives through the game. This recognition is a testament to his unwavering commitment to inclusion and his belief that golf should be accessible to everyone.”
Today, Golf For All offers programs serving adults with autism, veterans, individuals with Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord injury survivors, Special Olympics athletes, and others throughout eastern and central Massachusetts.
Beach’s induction into the inaugural Adaptive Golf Hall of Fame recognizes not only his decades of leadership but also his role in helping shape the growth of adaptive golf nationwide.
“I’ve been fortunate to witness firsthand the joy, confidence, friendships, and sense of accomplishment that golf can bring,” said Beach. “This honor belongs to the participants, families, volunteers, PGA professionals, and partners who have helped make inclusive golf possible.”
The Adaptive Golf Hall of Fame was established by the National Alliance for Accessible Golf to recognize individuals whose leadership, service, and advocacy have expanded opportunities for golfers with disabilities. Beach was named to the Hall’s inaugural class, honoring pioneers who have helped shape the growth of adaptive golf throughout the United States.
Golf For All’s work will be celebrated and supported at the organization’s annual Ridge Club Charity Classic on June 29 at The Ridge Club in Sandwich, Massachusetts. Proceeds from the event help fund free adaptive golf programming throughout the Commonwealth. Register here.
